Whimsically poetic

Paul Chesne brings the rootsy goods to T. Boyle's

By John Sollenberger 04/05/2012
Paul Chesne’s Americana country roots-rocking southern sound is on full display Saturday night at T. Boyle’s Tavern as the singer/songwriter and guitarist comes in with his band.
Chesne is a proven crowd-pleaser, as a glance at his band’s itinerary verifies. He’s had gigs lined up all over California and Nevada in recent weeks, playing back-to-back-to-back shows at a variety of clubs. Chesne has toured all around the US, and he’s brought his sound to more than 1,000 shows since he launched in 1999.
The prolific composer has written more than 200 songs in the course of producing three, full-length discs and an EP. His recordings have featured players who’ve worked with top names in the music business, including Dwight Yoakam, Johnny Cash and Keith Richards. Lyrics range from political to whimsical to dark and poetic, and he’s backed by a band of powerhouse musicians. Check him out at paulchesne.com.
