Stuck

Imagine a super hot white chick from Echo Park with the voice of Tammi Terrell wearing elaborate baby doll costumes playing ukelele with live hip hop beats.

I think sometimes you stumble across great talents in your life. Sometimes they are sung and others are unsung. I want to sing this one. I'm not the first to sing her praises. But I join the chorus. Holland Greco. Aka Heartkour. Aka the lead singer of The Peak Show.

This video and song completely mesmerize me. The counter says it has been watched over 1000 times. I think if you watch multiple times from the same IP address it doesn't register because I've watched/listened to it probably that many times myself.
Enjoy!

White Man's Curse Review And Year End Message

The guy that told U2 to change their name from "The Hype" and that has designed all their album covers wrote a review of White Man's Curse which was published in issue #5 on page 22 of Lonesome Highway magazine. Here's a direct link to the review.

So 'tis the end of the year. Just a little status report.
2008.
62 shows.
12 cities.
Released an album. You can download it here for free!
Played 2 sold out shows at the House of Blues on Sunset with Pat Green.
Other notable shows of 2008... Played with Country music hall of famer Junior Brown at Fishlips in Bakersfield. He played this song which is great! "You broke her heart. She's comin' here. You do the math." Now that's a chorus.
Played with Rock and roll hall of fame guitarist Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers at the Viper Room. And many other bad ass bands.

If you've been out to a show recently you'll notice that we're playing a lot of new songs. I counted them up recently and there are at least 22. So we're gonna be doin' another album in 2009.
And doing some more touring...
And continuing to have the time of my life.
Thanks for coming along for the ride so far. We're goin' places.

Come top it off with us at O'Brien's Pub on New Year's Eve. We're playing from 8:30pm-11pm. There's also DJ and all chaos will ensue.

The Dreams Do Come True Category

A few words on Dave Roe. He played bass with Johnny Cash for 12+ years. I saw him play 4 shows with Johnny & June. Then it ended up that he contributed backing vocals and some bass tracks to both of our records. He also played a few shows with us. Here we are rocking at the Lava Lounge in 2004. He and Mitch Marine had just gotten off stage after performing with Keith Richards, Norah Jones, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Jim James, Dwight Yoakam etc. at the Gram Parsons Tribute at the Universal Amphitheatre and drove straight to the Lava Lounge to jam with us.

Here he is playing bass and singing back-up vocals on the song Old & Gray from the Wet Dog Man album.

Here he is playing with Johnny Cash and Marty Stuart!
